ABC's of Kindergarten - This a presentation made by the whole K class. There will be singing, speaking, and sharing! There will be refreshments after.

Tuesday, June 7th - K Class Picnic -9:30-2:30 at
The Oltjen's House - We encourage families to attend!
Details were sent home in backpacks on Wednesday. Please fill out form a return to me by Tuesday May 31st. The room parents are organizing food and activities for that day. Contact them with any questions ( Wen and Chrissy )

Week of 8-10 - Short Week


Literacy

  • Letter of the week Nn.
  • Made lists of words beginning and ending with the/n/ sound. /n/ nose or can /n/
  • New sight word: in
  • Created sight words using pipe cleaners
  • Continued with our BIG book, Monsters Party. We made monster masks!
  • Read the book, The Soldiers Tree by Stephanie Pickup. We decided to write letters giving our soldiers a positive message. I will be sending them to an army post in Kansas.
  • We discussed Being Thankful.
We studied the state of California
Ask you child what they learned?
state bird, state capital, location, weather,
how does the state make money, who lives there?

Parents please share any stories, memorabilia, books,
etc. you might have about the state being studied.

REMINDERS!
Book Fair - Monday-Friday
On Wednesday we will be going to the Book Fair to browse. If you are not able to visit the fair during the week and would like your child to purchase a book, please send in money on Wednesday. I will help the student choose an appropriate book. Please send money in an envelope with an amount you would like your child to spend.
