ABC's of Kindergarten - This a presentation made by the whole K class. There will be singing, speaking, and sharing! There will be refreshments after.

Tuesday, June 7th - K Class Picnic -9:30-2:30 at
The Oltjen's House - We encourage families to attend!
Details were sent home in backpacks on Wednesday. Please fill out form a return to me by Tuesday May 31st. The room parents are organizing food and activities for that day. Contact them with any questions ( Wen and Chrissy )

Literacy
  • Studied the letter P! We had many centers that concentrated on beginning and ending sounds.
  • New sight words - See & For
  • Read the poem - A Potato for the Teacher
  • Some students are planning a play. They wrote the script and the actors are currently practicing their lines. Stay tuned for more information!
  • Shared our State research with Mrs. Martin's classroom. The state for next week is New Hampshire (feel free to share a story, picture, trinket with the class)
  • Learned to sign many farm animals in sign language from Mrs. Farias.
  • The next time you are in the class - Check out your child's writing journal. AMAZING WORK
  • We continued our work with the BIG book, To Town.
  • Next Week - short A word families (ap, ad, an) sight words we & of
Math
  • We enjoyed the help of some fifth grade who that came in to work on math centers with us. We practiced: making patterns, number memory game, connect four, and puzzles
  • If you have any old puzzles or board game that are not being used please think about donating them to our class.
  • We discussed estimation - We have an estimation jar each morning on our sign in table.
  • We played a new game called Monster Squeeze.
