Check this out! Gotta Love the Sun

We began a spring walk..Looking for Signs of spring (buds, flowers, nests, green grass, a baseball game). The hike ended with signs of a Kindergarteners having fun in a tree!

Literacy!

* Studied the letter Uu. Worked with short and long sounds

* Introduced U word families (un, ut, up, ug, ub)

* Sight words - but/from

* Continued with our ABC books. The students are working so hard!

We had the help of some 5th graders. They worked with a student to support with editing, illustrations, spelling.

* We have started to read the Magic Tree House series. They children love it...

After each book we write about our favorite part. We will make small moment books for each one.

Math!

* Discussed Halves. Focused on vocabulary (two, split, equal, even, groups,)

* Reviewed counting by 2's

* Reviewed geometric shapes (we will create a solid shape museum in the classroom - check out this week's homework)
